The film crew sets off on a journey to create a unique documentary film, which will be shared with people. They will enter the unknown to follow a chain of people who are not known before the shooting.
The film is inspired by the Stanley Milgram's theory. According to it every single person in the world can be reached through approximately 6 personal connections. The team will randomly draw a person ONE and a person SEVEN and let the fate to take them all around the world to find a chain of connections between those people.
There are no limits. No destination is impossible to reach. Every protagonist will tell his own personal story to picture the world in its whole variety.
It is going to be a "documentary road movie" through different landscapes, viewpoints, customs and human beings

During the first day of shooting (04.06.2011) lots were drawn for two causes. One of them was about finding the first character among twelve people who were designated by the film crew in the pre-production period. The last person in the chain was found by geographic coordinates. Random people on the streets of Warsaw drew numbers that have contributed to the meridian and parallel. At their intersection there is the place, where we found the SEVENth character of the film. In a few days after the draw our cinematographer was sent to this place. The first person met by him is the one who the film crew will try to reach through the chain of connections. From now on we know how the person looks, where he or she lives and what is his or her name.
And at this moment the film adventure will begin. A crew of three: Bartosz Dombrowski (director), Wojtek Zielinski (cinematographer) and Blazej Kafarski (sound director) sets off on a journey to find the chain of connections between two complete strangers. They will travel for around 4 months to examine how strong are relationships between people and if ideas about others’ lives are in line with reality.
This film is in not only about adventure. It will also touch deeper values which are reflected in people’s lives. The human being is what's most important in this film. The SIX DEGREES filmmakers tackle the following questions: whether people become closer to each other in the era of the Internet and the global village theory? Or maybe we are so preoccupied with our own affairs, work, problems that we do not notice people around us? Do we care about our friendships? Do we have a moment while being in a rush to stop and think what happens to people who used to be close to us?
